Shahida Nurulla
Shahida Nurullah, a Detroit native, has overcome immense challenges to become a celebrated vocalist. She sings jazz, blues, samba, and more in three languages, captivating audiences worldwide. Praised by Downbeat, the New York Times, and others, she’s performed with Geri Allen and at the Montreux Detroit Jazz Festival. Her latest album, The Ruby and the Pearl, showcases her remarkable talent.
Ali Allan Colding
Allan Colding is a seasoned Detroit jazz musician with national and international experience. He’s performed at major venues and played with renowned artists like Marcus Belgrave, Dorothy Ashby, and Fred Anderson. His musical education includes lessons from top drummers and conversations with legends drummers like Rudy Tucich, Sr., Doug Hammond, Roy Brooks, J.C. Herd, Jimmy Allen, Ron Johnson, Danny Spencer, and George Davidson, as well as through conversations with Elvin Jones and private lessons with Robert Pangborn Sr., percussionists with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Jack Luddingham at the Teal School of Music
