My Story
Huan is a music teacher and composer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He studied philosophy at University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), the conduction technique in the Pro Arte School of Music, and the CAPSA program offered by CalArts in 2016, with Professor Randy Gloss. He has worked in the cultural area of Rio de Janeiro for 10 years. He was the producer of Agência do Bem, a Rio favela project for which Huan was assistant conductor of their orchestra, Nova Sinfonia.
Collaborating with over 300 students, he created the All for a Dream project to create the school anthem. Huan conducted the orchestra when the students performed in the Cidade das Artes Concert Hall in 2014. Today Huan’s students range from toddlers to teenagers.
He has toured Brazil, the United States, and Germany, performing both original and Brazilian classical music. He composed the soundtrack for the documentary Aquas Andes Amazonia, a coproduction of Brazil and Ecuador. In 2016 he created an original production, Ilicitus, for the German arts company Samadhyanna. He has contributed to publicity for New Balance and for theaters in Brazil
